I am Mim Hoffman, a native of Jackson County IA, born and raised on a farm in Fairfield Township which was known as Union Centre.
After a longtime career in wardrobe in all aspects of show business, I “retired” to eastern Iowa, where I grew up, to restore this lovely estate that I now call ONE ORANGE CENTRE to its full potential.
Nearly 3 years and a pandemic after purchasing the property, it is still a work in progress under construction and restoration in the outbuildings, gardens, and grounds. As I develop this property, I will open it up to retreats of all kinds, from spiritual to corporate.
I live here with my Great Pyrenees, Bodhi, who found me the very day I found this house, and Bella, my Aussie Shepherd- Great Pyrenees, who are guardians of the house and premises. When there are guests here, I try to keep them confined to my office/bedroom wing as much as possible. I am generally on premises either in my office bedroom wing or in one of the barns or the greenhouse.
During Your Stay
Never one to shy away from a challenge or to lack imagination, I will provide a memorable experience for you and yours. Spend a couple days relaxing and roaming the estate. Enjoy home-cooked meals prepared on the premises. Practice yoga or meditation on the grounds. Celebrate a birthday or anniversary in any number of locations throughout the house. I can set up an itinerary of things you can do nearby, brewery tours, wine tastings, state parks, exploring local caves, tours of other local Mid-Century homes and buildings.
I am a trained creative problem-solving facilitator, with an M. Sc. From SUNY-Buffalo-State. Optionally, you can incorporate creative problem-solving sessions into your stay.
One Orange Centre is a place to Begin and to Begin Again, a place with luxury hotel-like accommodations in a scenic country setting. I could not have been happier to weather the pandemic from this lovely place. The views here inspire me every single day.
